6 to 9 PM

Dinin' on the Dixie

Experience an evening of fun and enjoyment at Vermilion Place, corner of Main and Hazel Streets.  The evening will start at 6 PM with the dedication of the new streetscape in the first block of North Hazel Street by Mayor Scott Eisenhauer.

Then travel back to the past with a hamburger or hot dog meal cooked on the grill in the outdoor patio garden of Vermilion Place, 14 N. Hazel. Meal choices include: a hamburger (with all the fixins) meal with sandwich, chips and a non-alcoholic drink ($8.50) or a hot dog meal with all the above. ($7.00) Tickets will be available after May 1st at the Vermilion County Museum, Java Hut, or Vermilion Place, or may be purchased at the door.

Your outdoor dining will be accompanied by great music. A new local "music group", coordinated by Alan Waite, consists of band members from Doc Ashton and the Root Canals, Alan Waite's own group, and Spice. They will be playing a wide range of music from blues, to jazz, to rock and roll from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Downtown Danville, Inc. will be manning a drinks tent outside Vermilion Place, adjacent to the band, for those wishing to purchase beer. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and listen to the music under the stars.
